>In addition to your shoddily constructed straw-men, what’s really amusing is that you find it worthwhile to spend time and comment on a website with a mission that you are diametrically opposed to.
.
It's not amusing, he and his friends have already been able to make this their place

Not all anti-racism activist believe that "race doesn't exist." We agree it doesn't exist as a biological reality, but what that means, we disagree on. Besides, lots of "colorblind" advocates who really promote the "race doesn't exist" meme are not anti-racism activists.

This is amusing.
1.) Hunter has his very own bloggie Occidental Dissent.
2.) Hunter is insecure about his own beliefs, thus he must sneak on over to racismreview to convince others he Actually Believes What he Claims to Believe on his Own Blog.
3.) So, Hunter is impossible to classify and identify! What we need is more non-Hunters on Political Blogs!

This is amusing.

1.) Anti-racists argue that "race doesn't exist."

2.) OTOH, anti-racists argue that "racial diversity" is inherently a good thing and should be encouraged. The underlying assumption is that whiteness is inherently pathological.

3.) Anti-racists demand affirmative action programs and diversity initiatives to increase the number of non-Whites in our universities.

So, races are impossible to classify and identify, but we need more non-Whites on college campuses!

It's good to know about the University of Illinois program and the importance of ensuring that consciousness of one's own perspective and social identity was a part of facilitator training.

I was involved in a similar program at University of Illinois (Program on Intergroup Relations) - I have to say, the leadership dynamics were quite equitable, but I credit the director of the program for selectively choosing those facilitators who were charged with leading the dialogue groups and for making sure those involved remained conscious of how their social identities (and positions of privilege) could influence the process, and making sure that was managed throughout.

I'm still concerned about whites taking over the group. In these goups at FAU and Michigan, is the leadership dynamic pretty much equitable.

Thank you for your comments. The Intergroup Dialogue program at the University of Michigan is a wonderful vehicle to start the dialogue among students, faculty, and staff about diversity and inclusion. We are beginning this program on our campus.
I just learned about the work of the Institute for Race and Change at Florida Atlantic University that engages majority and minority group members in sharing and listening to race relations stories in non-confrontational settings. Of course, it does take visionary leaders and authors such as Joe Feagin to provide us with the framework for understanding systemic racism and its effects on us all.
