I'm glad to know that the report focused on black women, but I find the monolithic image of "a black woman" troubling. The talk about how discrimination against black men hurts black women seems to imply that all black women are not only heterosexual, but mothers and heads of households. Certainly this is true for some women, and this problem should be recognized and addressed, but at the same time it overlooks a lot of black women.
